Pesang Manok (Chicken Soup in Ginger Broth) All you have to do is combine the chicken with most of the ingredients and cook until tender.

Combine chicken, water, chicken broth, ginger, and whole peppercorn in a cooking pot.esang manok is another type of the boiled soup dishes popular in the Filipino food culture. Although similar to nilaga in preparation and ingredients.


Ingredient: 

2 pounds of chicken 
1 thumb-size piece of fresh ginger, crushed 
8 peppercorns 
5 cups of rice or water washings 
1/2 cup of red tomatoes, sliced 
1 cup of potato cubes 
6 leaves of bok choy (bokchoy) 
1 stalk of green onion 
fish sauce (if you do not have this fish sauce, salt substitute) 

method: 

1) Cut the chicken to the appropriate size. Place the chicken pieces in a deep saucepan or pot, pour 5 cups of rice or water washings, mix the crushed ginger, peppercorns, tomatoes and fish sauce. 

2) Boil. I do simmer until cooked chicken. Add the potatoes until tender it. Add the bok choy and green onion. 

3) Remove the fire. That I can serve it. Be sure not to overcooked vegetables. Done!
